The Integrated Economic Development Zone (IEDZ or KAPET) of Bima is located in eastern of West Nusa Tenggara, consisting of the regencies of Bima and Dompu, covered the area of 6,921.45 Km2. In the aspect of trading, KAPET Bima has a strategic position as the exit gate of goods and service conecting west and east Indonesia.
In the aspect of tourism, KAPET Bima is located among “golden triangle” position. In the west area is the international tourism area of Bali Island, in the north is Tanah Toraja of Sulawesi, and in the east is Komodo Island.
In addition, KAPET Bima is included in the area of the regional cooperation of Australia – Indonesia Development Area (AIDA), a bilateral economic cooperation betweeen Indonesia and Australia.
Potency of Leading Sector
Agriculture It has potency for food crops development such as red onion of 114,214 Ha, soybean of 43,615 Ha.
Plantation Cashew nut plantation of 70,486 Ha ; 11,111 Ha has been used, and coffee of 28,692 Ha; 4,082 Ha has been used.
Animal Husbandry Beef catlle of 32,400 Ha.
Fisheries Shrimp embankment/pond of 3,715 Ha, tuna and skipjack of 10,669 Km2, pearl of 3,025 Ha and seaweed cultivation of 6,156 Ha located in Sape strait and Cempi bay, Waworada bay, Hu’u bay and Woja bay.
Industry Traditional salt industry of 5,278.99 Ha and has been used of 1,325 Ha located in the districts of Woha, Belo, and Sape.
Minning Marble of 648,793.000 m3, covered are of 650 Ha in the districts of Monta, Belo, Sape and RasanaE. Gold and Mangan mining are in Woha, Monta and Hu’u districts.
Tourism Marine tourism of Lawata Beach, Sanggar, Waworada, Lakey Hu’u and Wane Beach. Ecotourism of Mount Tambora, natural reserve of Madapangga, Kambing Island, water fall of Oi Panihi, Satonda Island and historical and cultural tourism.
Land Transportation State/road is available, connecting among regencies, production and distribution centers.
Sea Transportation There are 2 ports in Bima regency, Bima port including tanker port of pertamina and Sape Port. While in Dompu regency 2 ports are available, port of Kempo and Calabai. Besides that, Sape ferry port is available, connecting Sape – Komodo island - port of Bajo.
Air Transportation M. Salahuddin Airport is available for the pioneer flight to Selaparang Aiport (Mataram), Ngurah Rai (Denpasar), Bajo Port, Tambulaka, Ruteng, Ende, Kupang and Waingapu (East Nusa Tenggara), with two times flights a day. M. Salahuddin airport can be landed by airplane type of fokker 27, C 212 and DHC 6.
Incentives
According to Goverment Decree Num. 20/2000 dated April 7th 2000 jo. Num. 147/2000, dated December 23rd 2000:
- Four kinds of income tax incentive for investments activities in the Bima Integrated Economic Development Zone (IEDZ).
a.30 % net income discount from the total equity invested. b.Choices for implementation of depreciation and or amortization system. c.Compensation for fiscal loss, started in the next fiscal years for at least 10 years. d.10 % of income tax on dividen paid to foreign tax subject or lower tariff due to on going multiple tax avoidance.
- Value added tax are owed on subject to a delivery and material imported tax quaranted by goverment (President decree RI No. 37,1998).
- a. Building and land tax to both new and extended objects is reduced by 50% of building and land tax liability accounted since the land permit was issued
b.The land and building tax facility is granted only for investments in agriculture, plantation, animal husbandry, fishery, mining, forestry, industry, real estate, tourism, infra structure for economy and land, seas and iar transportation services. (Decree of Ministry of Finance RI No. 748/MK.04/1990 dated 28 June 1990)
- Customs facilities in the form of import duty reduction provided to investors within the authority of Kapet Bima (Decree of Mionistry of Finance RI No. 200/KMK.04/2000 dated 6 Juni 2000) include :
a. Importation of machinery that directly related to industrial activities so that the final import duty is 5 %, but in the case of import duty set in the Indonesian import duty book (BTBMI) at 5 % or less, then the tarrif is as stated in the BTBMI. b. Importation of goods and materials required for 4 (four) years according to established capacity, for the period of 4 years since the issue of import tax reduction, the final import duty of these goods and materials directly related to industrial activities is 5 %, but in the case of import duty set in the Indonesian import duty book (BTBMI) at 5 % then the tariff is as stated in the BTBMI.
